I mean, I kinda get it. I've seen this in other places where characters will "downplay" themselves and their own relatives in regards to their guests to make themselves more humble. I get it.

But it gets to a point where it becomes degrading. Especially when she has been part of their family for some time now and it just comes off as if "oh, you are just going to trade up anyways from my worthless son."

I would've assumed that she would've wormed her way into the family's good graces way before marriage, even tho i guess she found out where he worked and joined the company lol (wouldn't be surprised if the father's passed away and the mom projected expected responsibilities onto the sons)

But her deciding to not have a ceremony and such might also come off as Yoshino probably having ulterior motives or so as well

Be concerning if she was some 'boymom' and wouldn't approve no matter who his partner was/ended up being a mothercon but that's a whole diff story, but i wonder if it'd be diff in other countries or simply families that are more pushing towards marriages to the point that they'd do set up/arranged marriages

These people are fucking insufferable and I'm expecting Naotsugu's father to either try to fuck Yoshino very publicly during the ceremony or try to get them to call it off and physically separate them because of his deep and violent shame in his son.

Well they’re already married so a post ceremony shouldn’t be too bad but I guess I’d passive aggressively invite everyone cept the parents/family if they’re acting this way, idk if Yoshinos family is still alive (she was living with her grandma early on to commute? But I imagine they might also object to marry someone with an age gap even tho it’s common for woman tho Mc is just a “normal” salaryman as opposed to a ceo) but hopefully she can be more direct like “if you can’t be respectful/accept us we won’t allow you to be in the ceremony”
