I seem to remember them saying this wasn't done for profit.

Why would you need your own website if it wasn't aimed at profit? Mangadex is ad-free, great UI for both readers and uploaders.

Also don't understand how/where a URL shortener trash scam can be implemented? I thought most people were like myself, goes into MD checks updates on following. Where would I ever need to click on your shady URL ads?

I think I heard someone say "testing the waters" back when I was maybe 8, when English was still very much a tertiary language to me, and it was self-explanatory enough that it didn't need any explanation.

If you're operating below that level of understanding English, why are you even trying to translate something into it? Just get a guy who properly speaks it, they're not that rare. And get a spellchecker too while you're at it; even bottom-tier browsers will do it for you nowadays so this really is a shameful display.

@BuffSoul it must be the link they post in their discord. also, i don't mind them making some profit from patreon donations or ads. it's only a problem if aggregator sites do it without permission
