After reading over 400 chapters, I now realize the author has simply wasted my time.
MC rescues his girl and she immediately sacrifices herself to take a hit for him. This is after 400 chapters of some of the most incredibly directionless storytelling. There is no real romance it's just constant cliches and nonsense about power levels and bloodlines. I don't know if the MC gets his girl back but at this point I don't care. She was by far the most interesting character of this story and the MC does not have the presence to carry the plot by himself.
I really don't know why I expected better. I guess the mutual interest between the ostensible leads grabbed my attention (I have a hard time calling the girl a "lead" since she disappears for literally 200 chapters) but as soon as she got fridged(and this is a term I don't use very often, but it is very appropriate here), I was out.
save yourself the time. don't read this crap.
