isn't 'alchemist' used in most manhua? I think they are both fine tbh, but I voted alchemist because it was already used. in event that alchemist is revealed to be another distinct study, however, it would be better to use pharmacist. that said, I don't think I've seen many (any that I recall, actually) manhua that make this distinction. also, if 'pharmacist' doesn't sound good, 'apothecary' (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apothecary) can be used instead. the drawback on this word is that it sounds like it is a noun describing the study of pharmacy while in fact it is a noun describing a person who engages in such study. any of these three are fine to me though.

I say go with alchemist. Technically, pharmacist is wrong. Pharmacology is indeed the work and creation of pills, but not pills made directly from herbs. Herbalists make pills from herbs. Instead the pills pharmacists deal with are made from man made molecular compounds. However, alchemy is the practice of using ‘magic’ or some other secret art to turn one substance into another. For instance, lead into gold. Or in cultivation stories, herbs into pills. That’s why alchemist is a more appropriate fit in my opinion.

Thanks for the chapter update!

I think alchemist sounds better too. Many other manhua/manhwa used alchemist for anyone who creates pills, no matter whether they are actually using cauldron or not. Have you ever read one which mentioned, "Wow such an amazing pill!! Who created this?? Alchemist or pharmacist??"
