tbf after being experimented like a lab rat, him not going for revenge and killing the whole sect is already such a surprise... but they not only made him a shit person (due to how his shifu was) but after the cockroach survived they want to use it to intimidate the rest of the world by making him the patriarch. they expecting anything but a sword to their heart from him is hypocrisy. luck them his mind broke towards being lazy and not a killing monster.
