I don't like villains who get plot armor and create plot holes. Like did no one report or hear that? I don't think that prison wouldn't have a patrol or video camera system. Sure, the villains inside are sinister too, but they are also selfish, reporting them may gain them time off prison.
I also don't think they wouldn't have wire trips, detecting for broken cell doors....
