Lots of blah blah blah that sounds good on paper, but in reality the cave heavens and paradises have been forcing people outside of the cave heavens and paradises to break through at most at the sixth rank so that nobody outside of the cave heavens and paradises could ever reach the ninth rank. That's what happened to Yang Kai as well, although they went for the fifth rank for him, just for laughs. They are scumbags, the whole lot of them. The human side might have had dozens of ninth rank old ancestors more to send to the ink battlefield without that policy. Of course it would have also required for the ninth rank powerhouses to know what the heck is going on, but that was inconvenient since apparently cultivators facing a wall would rather turn into a monster slave than try to climb the wall. Yeah, right. Pure arrogance from the cave heavens and paradises.
