The problem what someone like Ye Xin Rou, who has low morals and loves cheap tricks, is that she easily thinks everyone else is the same. It's even worse if you mix ambition and arrogance into the mix because then she would think her enemies/targets would be incapable of seeing through even lousy strategies. A normal person would hesitate to send Qiu Meng against Yang Kai, suspecting she's still loyal to him, but Ye Xin Rou would only really consider that from a poisonous point of view, like looking down on her or trying to punish Qiu Meng by forcing her to betray someone she respects and admires. However, what kind of strategy is that? In strategy, you are supposed to maximise your own chances and minimise your enemy's, not punish your own allies and make things difficult for them. If you force someone to fight their own friend, you are lowering their performance and creating a huge risk for everything going wrong. Not to mention, even if you succeed, you will be creating a mortal enemy for yourself, which is idiotic. But then again, characters in xianxia love creating enemies left and right.
