Weird if others looted the inner/grand palace behind the soul artifact, yet didnt they do anything for the ~100 corpses or the saintess/MC. Maybe they looted them as well, but the novel says MC looted the corpses, which makes it weirder.

If you think about it, if you saw an unknown, obviously high level and activated artifact hovering in the air, surrounded by a mass of fresh corpses, you might not want to approach it haphazardly, if at all. So, I'd say it's logical they were left in peace, even if the rest of the ruins were explored and looted.
