Wow, this is a good martial arts Manwha, a diamond in the rough. The story is slice of life/adventure where the protagonist is strong but not cringe-worthy. The story is also good, and most of all, this is not some harem/clueless protagonist. This guy is smart and can actually think normally, which is surprising for this genre. It's worth reading. I will update the status after 100+ chapters.
I've been on here for a long time, but never bothered leaving a comment till now. This made me change my mind. It's very good. Probably one of the best martial arts Manga/Manwha I've read. There's nothing super crazy, just a guy who's good at martial arts in the old west (being colonized by China in this universe), and his growth through meeting others. So far there's no big overarching plot (though some seeds have been laid down). It does do the webtoon thing of stretching some fights out, but the action is fun enough I can forgive it for that. He starts strong, but not invincible. The backstory makes sense so far. Probably the best thing is that he's not a total pushover. He kills his enemies, and tries not to get involved in unnecessary things unless his conscience is pricked enough. He also has a pretty good idea of his own strength in the world and acts like it, though others underestimate him since he's not from a famous martial school or family. As mentioned above: no harem (so far)! It's a miracle in this genre!
Credit to Nightbringer on Novelupdates for pointing this out in his review, but I too was shocked when he killed a sympathetic female villain. Villainesses will often have a change of heart or be so crazy/evil that everyone knows they'll be killed off. Even then it's often the MC's love interest that kills the crazy villainess. But here, she's pretty sympathetic and he still kills her. What I enjoy is that he thinks it's stupid to help, but does it because of his modern day ideals. Pretty realistic for someone who remembers their past life, but also grew up in the harsh world he's in: he ignores his conscience when he can't help but sometimes he's so aggrieved he feels the need to act since he's strong enough to do so.
Mangadex doesn't have the novel linked for some reason, but it's on Novelupdates as Martial Wild West. At the time of writing this it's not being translated anymore, and only has a few chapters (well behind the manwha) but it's still good.
Really good, point. Simply enjoying read.
Smart MC, good and plausible plots (out of some Western Films), and inherently consistent.
Not a masterpiece but really good. I has too many reminiscences from other genres but this is in it self an art. To take something and give it a twist and create so something new.
Especially the Wild West atmosphere is like taken out of a Italo Westrn Film. You only needed to play some Ennio Morricone Film Music and you can enjoy this Manhwa even more. 🤠
Man this is good. it is exactly what it says on the cover, a martial arts western. it uses actual locations as references (irl they were settled because they had good locations, and in the case of the salt lake city equivalent, also uses the exact same naming scheme)
it is an isekai but it’s pretty well done.
the main character actually has game and bangs someone. good 👍🏼
