Mary, according to her rumor/legend, was abandoned by her owner and seeks vengeance.

The drill-hair lady mistreated/abandoned her own "dolls", which is initially implied to be Mary, but the punchline is that it was actually some Transformers.

Whether the Transformers are actually haunting her is still unknown.
