I'm here just to say that if we are talking more of other series instead of this "epilogue", it's because Masamune-kun no Revenge has no real appeal now.
Btw, I like Horimiya. And I like it more now that is "stagnant", because the interactions of the characters are pure comedy. The author surely is prolonging the situation before turning on the "drama mode" until he needs to wrap the story, surely addressing Miyamura's family "circumstances". When that happens I don't think that we can see the same comedy until it is resolved.
@givemersspls I didn't know that section of tvtropes, thank you!. How appropiate term "YMMV: Your Mileage Might Vary", because I think that Hori didn't change Miyamura like you said (not willinglly, at least) and by your same arguments!😄
I think that He wanted to change himself because of those insecurities that he has (just as you said), because he thinks that his older appearance might affect the image to others of her. I think that Hori doesn't give a crap about her image, and I remember her didn`t liking so much his image change. And that's my point: As you said, he is running away, so he still is the same guy as the start of the story. Hori, instead, now has insecurities too (because she doesn't want to lose him). So when the true drama begins, both must confront it together.
As all is settled in the main story, the author must have 10 chapters or so ready to finish the manga on any moment. He is enjoying this slice of life comedy situation using the other characters as complement. In other series this can be boring and tedious but I like it here as I think the author nailed it.
