Yes.. I too would love to enter a highly prestigious academy in the entire continent whose examiners regular activities are attempted murder 7-10 years olds, likely noble children too and mentally torture them with constant barrage of insults and bullying.

Generally, I don't agree with such laws in stories where the MC insults royalty, so I'm not going to agree with them just because the MC's trusted people are the royalty being insulted. (There might not be such a law in this manga though.)

Anyway, I think the king is aware of the examiner's testing methods. A bit like a court jester, the examiner might have permission to insult royal applicants and royalty affiliated with the applicants.

The examiner wrongly claimed that MC's mother raised the MC poorly. (In this case) the insult had nothing to do with genetic heritage, and blood relation is not necessary for being a parent or raising a child.
