Am I the only one wondering where this is going? I mean, the story was pretty great in the beginning, but after the so-called "master" and the poisoning came into the picture it kind of... went downhill?
The plot became so convoluted out of nowhere. There wasn't a single hint that the ML was poisoned or that he suspected Zi had the legendary pearl and that he may try to kill her in the future! Not to mention that flashback retconning their first meeting felt so out of place! lol
It just makes me think that the author read comments guessing the original plot and decided to change everything to be more unpredictable.
Aw man, I'm so sorry for my rambling! I'm really thankful for the translations and I'm in no way trying to purposefully hate on this manhua, but it's just so mind boggling to me, because I thought it was so good and entertaining when I started reading that I pretty much binge-read it, but after chapter 40 it just felt like I was reading another story entirely.
