ahh, i'm enjoying this so far! her fast growth is satisfying that unfortunate isekai buff in me who wants an op protag HAHA
but she seems sensible and quick witted, so she's growin' on me pretty quickly.

thank you guys for the translation!

She let the maid live ???
Spies and traitors man both get the harshest punishment you can give. Hell this one was even instigating family warfare.

Moyong sounds like 慕容, and Dang should be 唐, there probably will be Namkoong or Namgung something like that for 南宫. These are pretty common important character names in cultivation novels I've read but aren't that common in real life at all. Moyong also tends to be common surname for female villains or love interests too for some reason... Namkoong tends to be surname for male characters of good/neutral alignment. Dang is oddly popularized by Douluo Dalu as the clan surname famous for poison and assassination arts I guess.

Re: Not realising her surname was Moyong, you can probably look at this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_compound_surname

Murong, Zhuge, Nangong etc. are quite typical surnames to use in wuxia.

Anyway, really glad that you kept everything including location names in Korean. I know that the murim/kangho takes place in fictional ancient China, but it's just weird when you read a translated comic and you have like... Gim Juhyeon or whatever, running around in Luoyang.

EDIT:

@Rayster

They're tropes/settings taken from wuxia novels, particularly those by Jin Yong or Gu Long. We're talking novels written in the 50s and 60s here. The Tang Clan being a group of assassin-style martial artists who use hidden weapons and poison wasn't 'popularised by Douluo Dalu' anymore than HBO's Game of Thrones popularised the concept of dragons being fire-breathing reptiles.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_organisations_in_wuxia_fiction

And yeah, compound surnames aren't common now because of
1. surname extinction
2. the fact that most compound surnames were Sinicised 'barbarian' names to begin with.
e.g. Nalan (納蘭) is the sinicised version of some crazy Manchurian surname

@estelion, I like the tropey names personally lmao they give me some kind of familiar martial feels with a kind of wuxia imagery when reading those novels etc, like how HP Lovecraft names give a kind of unique dark mysterious lovecraftian feels. 上官/孤独/欧阳/司马 are other compound surnames I frequently see too, along with 叶/林/萧/沈 surnames for main characters. This manhwa is the first time I see those surnames pronounced in Korean and it feels refreshing. Anyway, thanks!

@estelion

Thanks for the reference. Though honestly, I don't really have the time to go into every one and find out the correct names and such. Plus the fact that I never really learned Korean or hanja (chinese) at a school since I'm American makes it harder for me to realize which is the last and first name. I'll definitely save the reference links though for other wuxia terms and such.

The downside to killing the maid is letting her step-mother know something happened. By letting her live and make her keep sending fake info, she can manipulate impressions and have the upper hand.

What's so special about jumping into a pool of mud. I'd do that for $50, maybe even $10 if I feel like it.

Lol this dude is even dumber than her for giving his loyalty to an idiot like her.
What's her cheat fighting skills gonna do the next time she decides to munch on some toadstools?
