The physical abuse as a running joke is really not sitting well with me. It reminds me of "Cultivation group chat", in which the author seldomly made a joke about how funny it was that one of the MC's friends couldn't move for a whole week, because his parents beat the living hell out of him and almost crippled him. Haha being afraid of people is so funny.

And regarding this story...Let's just say that a beaten puppy will start biting once it reaches adolescence. This sort of treatment makes me feel like the guy is training a sith, nurturing the kid so he'll one day kill him.

Is there some part in china's culture that condones abuse for the sake of raising kids?
Or is it just the batshit insane authors that all suddenly made crappy fanfics to beat their kids vicariously through their work?
