Demonstrations of aikido definitely make it look like a clownshow, but if actually applied, those throws would simply break the attacker's limbs. I wouldn't say its "fake", but a martial art based solely on counter attacking ain't gonna work too good when your practice sessions resemble interpretative dance instead of sparring, and the user doesn't have anime level reflexes.(as evidenced in videos of aikido "experts" getting rekt by MMA guys)
