"Bitchin'" actually came back in the 2010s, if I remember correctly, or maybe I was just profoundly uncool at the time.
I kinda like that "sick" is back. I never stopped using it and I feel somehow validated now.
I think "ballin'" is used the same way "k" is, but again, I could also just be extremely uncool.
I was in a depression hole from 2010 through 2016, and playing Borderlands 2, Elder Scrolls and DnD. No idea what anyone was talking like.
I was always depressed before that, I just wasn’t in as much of a hole for 10-15 years.
I heard “mint“ again this year and was blown away. That didn’t make the cut for slang in the 90s. Some people tried to push it out there, but it didn’t stick.
I don’t know when “rinse and repeat“ became a common idiom, but it was not in my area back in the day. That’s why I used it, to be goofy.
Now I hear people say “rinsed” and it blows my mind. I don’t think I started it, not at all. It’s on the back of every hair product. It’s just funny that something I once said in order to be weird is now just… a thing you say.
Slang is always stupid, and we all use it. Language is weird.
