@Say yes it has practicality. you just travel the world and dont return back to the tribe. you can manage the travel fund by being merchant. the reason why cooking is so different across regions and countries is because of what the mother nature offers to the local cuisine not because there is no set guide or book. food culture born from what the local eat. they eat what they can get their hands on. for example beer started first produce in europe than any other continent because european can get corn, wheat, barley easily while Japan can get rice easily. as natural as can it get japan produce rice wine earlier than beer. beer first introduced in japan in 17th century while brewing beer started in japan later half of 18th century. why do you think japan started brewing beer? (of course because they learned to brew beer). if there is a universal set of guide or book for cooking people will surely follow the recipe from it like people in religion follow their book.
yeah im disregarding is character trait of being indebted with the tribe because he also totally disregard the kid is also a part of the tribe (unoffial i guess) especially when he unreasonably wanted to punch the greek kid when the kid said he might not return home. if he unreasonably getting mad from such statement then this show his utmost priority (going home) than being indebted. if being indebted is his bigger trait, he probably feels dejected first then move on quickly and not lashing out as he will feels that he already belong there.

@taichou115030 again it is not practical, he has no knowledge of the land and the world, him venturing out to unknown places would endanger him, specially without the support of the clan. Plus there is no certainty of him making enough money for a living, since all merchants so far follow regular trades and don't venture too out of their comfort zones.

There is no single way of tackling the issue of travelling back home, his way of doing it perfectly valid and fits his character of wanting to repay the clan while also getting information from others. Why you say he isn't trying enough is beyond me, since obviously he isn't expecting to go back within a few years and probably has a longer timeframe in mind, as he already has heard of other people who have remained and even founded countries here.

You have to realize that people cannot just suddenly start travelling the world on a caravan, he is no isekai op hero with cheat skills.

@Say are you totally disregarding that he tried to punch a kid because of his statement. why get angry of single discussion which lead to probability of him not going home. my rant started because my problem with mc when he tried to punch a kid for his take on them transporting to that world. if that statement could make him mad and disregard the kid's position then this show that what is the utmost priority for the mc. therefore he should totally exhaust/increase his information gathering capabilities. if his mind busy thinking the way going home then he would not think to punch the kid (rather not wasting energy). if he truly being indebted, then he would feel dejected first then quickly move on (probably still upset) and redirect his feeling doing favors for the tribe rather than begin a fight.

with this reply i will end this discussion/argument.

p/s i see your point a bit

@taichou115030 youre expecting the main character to be perfect who does nothing but try to fulfill his goal. He is scared, he doesnt know why he was brought there and what will happen next. He’s distracting himself from his emotions by trying to adapt in the new world. Like imagine if you had to cross the country with nothing but the clothes on your back. No money, no car, no anything.

This explains so much of the plot holes in the story! The people who are snatching people are doing so to evolve their world's people and technology.

Also, people are willing to do anything to shit-talk the MC

Though I can understand Saburou's frustration at being given a hard line of denial in his hopes of returning home, his move to strike Atomos, if that's what he was going to do, was highly uncharacteristic; and especially given that he felt a strong kinship with the lad. That whole scene felt very forced, and conveniently served to reinforce the label spat at him by the individual who stole Atom away at that moment.

At the end of the day it's just kids trying to figure out an impossible situation in a different world, so even if it is uncharacteristic it is also justifiable for someone to get angry when coming to face the harsh reality. People are not damn robots, I'd be more concerned if MC just took all that exposition laying down and remained calm, since the kid being with him gave him a glimmer of hope.
