I'm glad she's the type of character to admit where she's wrong but hot damn lady, YOU'RE the one who looked down on the prairie elves' culture FIRST, and then you have the audacity to say YOUR CUISINE is looked down upon? Get a fucking mirror!

It's been so long I forgot what Saburo's background was. I was convinced he was a professional chef.

Not sure about the translation, but what the woman in the Chinese dress made is most likely the chinese version of dumplings, which is called jiaozi. If the dumplings are boiled, they are called Shui Jiao. If pan fried, they are called Jian Jiao or Guo Tie (pot stickers).
Compared to Japanese dumplings that Saburo made, his version is called gyoza, and these are usually pan fried so they have a bit of colour to the dough and are crispy. The ingredients and prep are mostly the same but they have different dipping sauces.

Won ton is usually eaten in a soup with scallion but also can be deep fried. They also look nothing like the dumplings shown in the manga.

Of all the recipe to choose from to surprise someone who's clearly confident in her asian cooking culture, ramen ?
I was expecting him to put out something western instead. But well...
