Honestly by all means the plot got too big and convoluted all by itself... It was perfectly fine to have some sort of mystery and a vague notion of transcendental beings without introducing superior lifeforms, a massive experiment and all that stuff about spreading culture to prevent the destruction of the world. It's as if Blue Lock started with Yoichi Isagi wanting to play soccer and ended with him trying to score a goal against god in order to prevent a massive ball from nuking Japan.

This was part of an ongoing storyline with the author's prequel series, but since it got canceled I guess they decided to dump the plot points into this one before it ended.

Considering the cover illustation of the current volume has a girl with the same desing of the previous work protagonist, is writer is probably trying to end that plot line here.

Also I vaguely remember that the protagonist of the current manga wants to return because of a person that needed him, while the back story of the previous manga´s protagonist was he was heavy bullied and thing got worse when their only friend disappeared from one day to another so is kinda probable this was at some point planed as a sequel of the previous manga.

Thanks a lot to the timeless scans staff, for keeping this manga translation. I may be a bit lost with of thing has developed now but Im still interested in see wath the authors want to show us with this final arc

I don't know what they are going for here but one good reason not to give a clear objective is that it is one of the few ways to leave the door open for people to come up with something you haven't thought of.

OTOH working without a clear brief is one of the most frustrating things ever. Without even considering the stakes that they have been told they are working for.
