Pretty good series. Writing's not on the level of his other work Touge Oni, but still a cut above the usual slop.

I wondering if the edges of the cursed land are mapped. I would really like to see if it's a circle or a different shape.

didn't realized that it's the same writer (i need to pick it up again), but i'd say this is because they are still grasping at the fantasy and not using established mythology like that one

I would disagree. I think Touge uses the mythology more as a backdrop if anything and its strengths really lie in the character work and ongoing mystery. I think a major reason this one struggles is that the cast is simply too small. The most successful works I've seen that only have 1 or 2 main characters all lean hard into quiet atmosphere, which isn't really his wheelhouse.
