RIP Nara.
I didn't get it until now, but that's what Aegiana meant when she invited him to join the knights. She was a bonafide coup plotter ready to betray the rulers of her nation and saw value in keeping Inori for his Detection ability.
Wow. He truly is a psychopath with the abhorrent thought of selling out the one person who's the closest thing to a friend he has in this world. I'd love to call him a heartless bastard because that's what he is, but he seemed like he was born a psychopath.
While this manga isn't boring, it's also kind of depressing not to have an actual heroic side to root for. Inori is an antihero at best and a villain at worst. The emerging sides in the conflict are all morally grey at best, the revolutionaries also aren't clear-cut villains with their coup given the oppressive nobility.
