Pretty much - just because he's the protagonist and that (most of) his opponents are (kinda) bad, doesn't mean that he isn't evil or a villain himself

There was a few times when he expressed empathy, but yet he claims that he isnt and shows that indeed its the case.

The system is at least self-aware. Anyway, I could not have imagined I'd be reading "The slightly less Dark Massacre of the not really Vengeful Hero" in this story. It now feels similar, just with 100% less rape and body horror. I don't even think his fellow Japanese heroes are going to survive this. He says he's killing everyone in the castle except his new subordinate Aliyah and he means it.

Christ, what kind of moron publisher is putting this out? I don't understand how trash like this is even given a chance. There are like 3 pure pyschopath stories I can think of, at least one that got an anime, and I just don't get it. They're not good. Being edgelord crap is one thing, but they're just bad storytelling with no motivation for the characters.

they are given a chance because there are people that like this type of stuff
like those that are tired of the empty husks of the copy paste "good" heroes that are selfless to the point of it being a mental illness
