If anyone ever feels the need to edit this, the correct pronouns (from what I understand) is actually they/them. Despite Zenkichi's suspicion they're female, the author kept them androgynous on purpose. I know some humans are ok with being called "it" but I always felt that was derogatory since you're a person; not a thing.

I completely agree. Reading and seeing them being called "it" is dehumanizing and it made me uncomfortable just reading it.

Yeah I'll grant that this is an old translation but even in that context "it" feels like the wrong word. Id have rather they pulled a soul eater and default to he/him than it.
