I think it's because Chikage feels that you don't have feelings for him Tomari... :/ And he's most likely doing this so you can feel happy.. so if you don't like it then you should say your feelings more clearly..
Or it's because he doesn't want to make the marriage bound an excuse and want to marry her for real which makes that more romantic xD

Okay, it was fun, but dropped cause of the AMAZING quality drop in translation.
I'm sorry, I appreciate the efforts of the fansub. FANsub. But I am a translator a some things just don't fly.

Either that, or pages missing. Or rather, even with pages missing the translation makes no fucking sense in way too many places.
