The whole bit with Honemi is a parody of a Japanese TV show where they follow an elementary student on their first errand alone. Hajimete no Otsukai.

Also, do not eat if you don't know what you're doing but fly agaric is rarely fatal. It's used as a psychedelic, and is even just eaten whole in many parts of the world - just parboil it twice and throw away the water to get rid of most of the bad stuff.

Thank you for the chapter. This is such a good manga. How the fuck is it not popular? Honemi is so precious. Also this talk about poisonous mushrooms is reminding me of that one manga about an antromorphic mushroom girl and her quest to avenge her family death

Fly Agaric ain't that poisonous. Up into the 1950:s it was considered edible (if you peeled off the red skin and also boiled it a couple times, discarding the water every time). Even now it's mostly hallucigenic and some poisoned people were just in it for the drugging effect.
(And some get poisoned for mistaking it for something similar-looking but edible, like Amanita Cesarea, and eating a lot.)
