I feel like the author was like “oh shit, this eunuch guy might have a point, maybe castrating young boys to make docile slaves to serve the hundreds of women a singular emperor will be impregnating is kinda fucked up, let’s make him a creep as well.”
This wasn’t the time for some girl boss “have you ever thought about women not having dicks either” moment, because they have their own set of women-specific parts that eunuchs don’t magically develop the second they lose their manhoods. The equivalent would be women whose wombs were removed and their genitalia were sewn shut, where they have lost usage of the parts of themselves that make them women because someone with more power than them decided to do so.
It’s a state of being lesser than everyone else, relegated to a life of servitude, forever incapable of having your own family, sex, or even growing to any meaningful capacity if it happens at a young age. You are forever trapped in the body of a weak young boy because someone thought you had more worth that way. It was just so tasteless to make it some empowering “well what about women” moment when they don’t know the half of it, especially when the women in the harem get waited on hand and foot by those same eunuchs. You can’t have a fucked up by modern standards harem where women are gathered to produce heirs for an emperor and also do a “umm… women?” moment when a consequence of that fucked up system comes to light.
