But for real, I read some comments who kinda hit the nail perfectly: About MC being or acting like a beta but now in this setting its at least make sense, unlike artist other works. Dont see the appeal with anything here; Tags and descriptions dosent mention Harem, yet Harem tag is applied?, Yet if anything might happen -> MC cant do anything since he is a Eunuch. (Thought im not sure if this is really the case, as everything can and will be red connoned by the whimps of the creators). Personally its a bit to historical, yet it already portrayed much wrongly and goes into the typical anime version of anything, which brings the question why not make a alternative, fictional version of this ottoman empire. Not for me, especilly since artist track record of his past works, but also MC is shota without dick.

You see the whole point of harem is wish fulfillment for the (mostly male) audience , you're supposed to want to BE the MC. That's literally the entire appeal.

Harem isn't hentai so it's not explicit, but there's always that underlying tension and possibility that the MC could end up with one of the girls (or multiple girls if the story goes that route) even if he's dense as a rock. That's what keeps people invested and shipping characters.

But a eunuch MC just completely kills the fantasy. Even if the story tries to set up romance, everyone knows nothing can actually happen. The wish fulfillment is gone because what guy wants to imagine being in a situation where you're surrounded by attractive girls but literally can't do anything about it.

The harem tag is probably used because the king's harem is a central part of the story. It doesn't really fit the standard use on this site (the MC having a harem) but I can still see how it applies. There is no romance tag, which signals to us that - at least so far - the main character is not in a relationship with any of the women.

I'm a fan of the harem, romance, and romcom genres so I can see why people might be frustrated. However, the story lays things out early on: the MC is a eunuch and therefore has "physical" limitations. If you're able to get past that, I think the story is very entertaining. That's why it's a little sad to see it getting review bombed on MAL. Just because it does not fit the mold people want it to fill doesn't mean it's a bad story.

So about that , this is clearly based on the Ottoman empire and how can i say this...
they were particulary brutal (as you can see on the first chapter) and if the manga is follwing its example eunuch under the Sultan specially those who were positioned on his harem would have a complete castration aka everything gone

because ensuring total sexual incapacity was considered necessary due to they living in close proximity to the women of the Harem. (which is the MC case)

Honestly I've read this on manga plus when it first started releasing and the plot and setting are unique as well as the MC but I just can't really get myself to like this its not bad by any means but it just seems Meh yk?

That's usually the case when the plot revolves around relationships that won't ever set sail; it's just pointless drama with no end that is left out of the poorly chosen settings.
If you want more than just sexy drawings and temptation, with actual conclusions and main plot developments, then you can just try something else.

Still, it doesn't mean this is a bad work; it's just done for a certain reader base that isn't interested in looking further than that. That's not an issue, just a fact. You could consider this an issue if you think they are doing this deliberately to dumb down the readers, but I think they're just capitalising on the fact that the readers don't have the spare energy to use their brains and get out of this unending, boring (and dumb) cycle.

It's unfortunate, because this type of story is generally quite well drawn, be it the panelling or simply the art itself.
