@Bana: I think the first chapter is pre-cycle event, since the apocalypse shown wasn't the comet but basically eldritch abomination.

Satomi was dead by then, her soul in limbo (NEET state), then the cat came to basically get her back on the cycle of samsara.

At which point I think Tuxboros, the ruler of the cycle, found her, and basically went to find the younger Satomi who's still only in coma (a more literal state between life and death), long before the cat interfered.
Then it lured her into coming up with various catastrophes, so that the cats will fidget spinner time back, causing everything to repeat.
