I love how all the stories just come together. I'm glad I read this again the other day.

continuing from chapter 20 (I missed some minor characters, but I've included all the ones relevant in saving the world)
20. senri, tsuchinoko, references to kidnap hero and genderbent kanbara. senri's saw her crush hiroki kusano (rube golderg) being very close to a girl (his sister) and her heart broke so she reset her life
21. gay couple went to the star ark place (turned into a shelter)
22. kidnap failed to push back melancholia so the cat aliens reverted time to save the earth
23. 11 year old satomi is hospitalized from being hit by the car, she met the dark half of ouroboros (tsuchinoko) who used her vivid imagination to summon melancholia
24. and 25.
senri disappear from hiroki kusano's life because of her wish and he feels off , white tsuchinoko is depressed that it can't save the world, but then gets advice from hiroki kusano (about gold ruberg machine) and is encouraged to do the same:
gold ruberg chain:
former police officer convinces a girl to not suicide, so she asks tsuchinoko for be stronger.he also saves the disease girl, and since former police officer's saved her, the chapter 16 artist's arm is never destroyed: artists finishes drawing the novel 'late night vigilia' with his drawing hand: and
(ch 25) hitman 86 just killed satomi's mom (under her sister's request) and, with 'late night vigilia', is able to convince satomi to not give up on life (and destroy the world)
after her power-up from tsuchinoko, former suicidal girl becomes kidnap's sidekick and together, they push back melancholia.
world is saved.

I really need to read ALL of Douman's work. I have enjoyed the few I've read so far. He's right up there with Boichi as my favorite mangakas.

My introduction to douman was a stupid short manga where a guy fucks his rotting zombie girlfriend's brain out when I was a teenager then years later I rediscover him and find out he's an incredible teller of weird stories!

I still can't get around the first chapter:
Shut-in Satomi saw the apocalypse, then got judged by her cat Moire. When she said she wants more time, Moire agreed and used star wand / soul compression tool to send her 10 years back to the past. Someone theorized this scene happened in her dream state, but that made introducing the wand in chapter 22 totally meaningless.
Then there was a brief scene young Satomi tried to save Moire and got hit by a car. I think this accident was after she returned to the past, because she wore the star hair clip. Kinda dumb that she succeed the first time but failed this time. With Satomi in coma, Tuxboros tricked her wishing for apocalypse and cause the (almost)perfect cycle.
But then again, who summoned the first chapter's apocalypse?

@Kathartes considering there is a timeline where the comet never happened a timeline where the a different kind of apocalypse happenhappened is the start of the loop a different timeline was made after using the wand where instead of the cat finding her the tuxedo guy found her instead.

a possible explanation for chapter 1:
satomi's 10 years as a shut in and the apocalypse is her dream as she was in a state of near death from the traffic accident, 'the sirens of the end' may have been her hearing the the ambulance and it stopped once she was transported to the hospital.
the cat alien had advanced technology so it might have been able to communicate with her in her dream-state, used the wand to displace her soul in to a compressed dimension so that her soul didn't immediately pass on in that traffic accident.
(end theory)
there will probably be a more concrete explanation for chapter 1, in the last chapter which PowerNine mentioned.
