Xbox's newest lineup seems promising, but I've been disappointed by good trailers before, and the PS5 has a really big sales lead that's not going to be overcome soon.

Plus, Microsoft's also closed acclaimed studios like Arkane (which to be fair, is understandable) and Tango Gameworks (which is NOT understandable) which bodes ill for the future of its studio purchases.

Bethesda's been on the record saying that they would've let Arkane fix its latest debacle of a game, and would've supported the studio. It's Microsoft that overruled them and shut Arkane Austin down and stopped work on Redfall.

As for Tango, Microsoft said they need more critically acclaimed and highly innovative games like Hi-Fi Rush... made by Tango Gameworks. It boggles my mind why they would do that instead of greenlighting Hi-Fi Rush 2.

Sony's not doing itself any favors either. Their current methods are being viewed by the PC market as deliberately trying to shaft PC users, and coerce them to buy consoles just to have access to their titles. Even their recent press releases has them pitching only the first game in a series on both PC and PS5, then sequels will become console exclusives. This on the heels of the Helldivers debacle which has yet to be fully resolved. Game is still region-locked on Steam for countries without PSN coverage. And the account linking, which can give away a user's location from comparing account info leading to bans if you falsify your location, and you don't get to play the games anyway. The only way around it seemingly, is to buy a console so linking isn't required. Then there's the issue of Sony's questionable quality of cyber-security.

As if them being anal isn't reason enough to give them the finger. PC users will be more than willing to wait years for adaptations, or find new titles to play apart from Sony. These strongarm tactics are just not acceptable.

i wish people were as outraged by battle passes, micro transactions, and pay to win as they are about shit like Helldivers needing a PSN account
Maybe then, we wouldnt need to be nostalgic for when gaming companies werent trying to fuck our wallets
