Ps5s are still getting scalped right? Is there a point in them feeling superior?

I have neither of those things.

But I still lean towards Steam because I can play some games on Steam with a laptop.

Also, does Sony still had that bullshit with Helldivers 2?

It's true that Steam Deck technically has a bigger library, but a lot of that stuff isn't as playable with the Steam Deck's small screen, lack of keyboard and mouse, and low specs.

The PS5 is backwards compatible with the PS4, so it has a higher quality library of stuff that can actually be played on its specs and control scheme.

Now if you could hook the Steam Deck up to a TV Switch style in a user friendly way (I'm sure it's possible, just not in a braindead convenient way) that might be different, but only in terms of the screen size.

I don't have a steam deck but it is an x86 computer running Linux so it should easily do what you want.

It has a USBC port that supports video out and being a computer it supports all accessories via USB (and Bluetooth). So all you need is a USBC dock. And unlike the switch which tries to lock down the docks that can brick your switch, any $5 dock would do.

And being a Linux PC, it is backwards compatible with almost any game in existence be it an old dos game or a console game via emulators.

And since they give you kde desktop environment, you can use it to run software other than games

You can slap it on any usb monitor or tv you want, it's no different from a switch, or even more compatible.

Most games that don't run on portable mode will work in desktop, and portable mode is a big feature for steam games that do work. And that's before you start tinkering with other programs that will let you run whatever you want.

I bought a PS5 for retail back when they were hard to get then I gave my PS4 to my adult daughter. It really wasn't a good purchase because I just don't use it. I play almost all games on the PC from a gaming desktop and when I stream onto my TV it's via an HDMI-connected older laptop. I really only use it for DVDs and Blurays.
