I guess they're 'weaker'/easy targets but other than some kinda cult thing/someone like charlie manson? manipulating(?) ppl into killing for him(unless thinking of someone else), wonder how many did kill only men...I think there was a billy the kid type cowboy 'serial killer' that got away with it b/c no one thinks twice about old school western ppl killing to survive versus indiscriminately mass shooting in town

Thinking it over I think it's sort of a stew situation.

For example, a stew with carrots in it vs. a carrot cake. Both have carrots but you're less likely to actively bring up carrots when talking about the stew because the stew has a bunch of other stuff going on.

Similarly when you're talking about a
male serial killer who targets women you're less likely to actively bring up misogyny since there's also stuff like murder and whatever creepy shit they do with the bodies happening.
