A shop for packed bentos sounds nice lol tho other than taking it for a picnic or hike or so i'd prolly just wanna eat then and there or slightly outside but it's nice they have a 'hot' option

While Meshinuma doesn't seem to be picky or come across anything he's 'disliked' so far maybe you can splurge on something good on the weekend even if every meal's not like this lol

I usually take staff recommendation when eating, unless it's something that I really dislike (for example I don't like most fishes). They seem happy too when you take their recommendation.

Quite sure its a "bento store" and not a convenience store. But he was considering convenience store food though.

I mean he had slightly high cholesterol during his last visit, although I imagine since he’s not gorging himself every time he’s balanced but he should probably exercise a bit more even if he doesn’t join a gym lol

It’s good when it’s kind/proper customer service versus management pressuring employees to “upsell” the priciest option

Tho I’d feel awkward to ask for a recommendation and end up not getting it versus adjustments depending on the pickiness

I actually never took notice of my place's 711 hot food area. Just there for snackies drinks and slurpies.

Do you ask them, or do they just recommend something? Personally, I feel guilty asking for a recommendation because what if it's something I'm not a fan of. If I choose something else I feel bad.

If I am not sure what to eat I will ask but adding something like "oh but no fish though"

It's kinda hard to ignore b/c they're basically right in front/up to the counter in the main one i go to (but i suppose for JP konbinis you aren't allowed to freely use a microwave versus the workers doing it for you), although the pizza's a bit dried out, even if you can get two for one cheaper, i prefer a pizza at a diff gas station for single slices, tho given how mine is literally across from a middle school i'm surprised there's not more of a mess or the teens mooching off a free 'sample' of a drink or so lol , i don't think it's worth it for ppl to get mad if ppl 'steal' a drink from the fountain versus the bottled (although i'd prefer racetrac for the frozen drinks, idk if the machine is diff but for like slurpees it ends up being like 'half ice/air' even if you slowly pour it out but i guess ppl tend to drink it fast, brain freeze aside)

But yeah surprised not to see Meshinuma at a self serve buffet, 'all you can eat' places might not be as common in JP compared to the west (tho he did go to the meat place) but i know JP has those 'cake buffets' which are normally associated with groups of women going but i don't think he'd care about that lol

I guess depending on where they go they might verbally push a 'special' if there's not a sign like "Buy x set and you'll get a free soup/side dish"

Isnt that just another wonderful opportunity for a date for Iinuma and the female co worker? Id be really shocked if such a chapter never came up for a food manga.
