I don't think there are enough ACTUAL trans manga for a trans tag to be used much.

Most of them are magical genderbending, I can count the amount of times I have seen real trans themed manga with 1 hand.

There are a few dozen titles I know of. And having actual manga about trans or gender nonconforming issues lumped in under the magical genderbending umbrella does them far greater disservice than simply adding a comparatively smaller tag. Especially as they are very different in how they handle gender, identity, and transitioning.

I actually just tried my hand at compiling a MDList of such stories for a different thread. (It was suggested as a first step in a suggestion thread about adding a trans or gender nonconformity tag). The list is a bit broad right now due to me including a few titles where "magical genderbending" is the cause, but where dysphoria is treated seriously or they do a imo good job of portraying a trans perspective. It's also ofc also limited by my personal knowledge of such manga.

Yeah and the MD staff try to not add to much so having that one would be nice but their is so many other that would come first
I know I did make a proposition in a thread related to that and I could find like 10 before the non conforming one, like right now the 3 post down you have a ask for a female prota tag, and yeah that would be great Here is the thread and it has a lot of one you can feel would be great if many where added and while it seems they added some I would say not enough, heck their is even some of the current tag that are weird
You have video game and VR while I agree for the first the VR one feel like it is to close for the little amount of tag we have
Loli and Shota are probably the worse one, first thing first they are pretty charged and nasty word for many of us... second we do not use Yaoi and Yuri but BL / GL because it describe them better so why use this super charged word and EVEN better, because it is one with let's say implication people tagging story do not use it... and we still do not have a childcare tag
so yeah depending on the mood of the tagger we get loli or no tagged on childcare and people that ban tag will not see them


And now you need to properly tag them too, I did stop counting all the Isekai reincarnation slop that are miss-tagged and well all the GB that are miss tagged because like they are so many of them, like if a fucking background character is GB and the plot does not go into it just append as a slap stick you get the GB tag... even if it is not even a theme of the series, like some of them are tagged so wrong it would be like adding the tag GB on One Piece because of that one episode... the egg here might know it

As much as I would like to have it, their is a lot of other that are needed first or change of some
Trans are a niche tag and while miss tagged as GB or Crossdressing you can still somewhat find them. I do think the moderation of the GB tag is way to lax as many have a side character that did get GB but isn't a theme of the story and while present in many chapter are just not something the author even focus or heck acknowledge behind slap stick comedy


And of the tag we have some would need to change, why did we stop using Yaoi/Yuri to use normal term like BL/GL but will still use the way WAY more charged tag for Shota and Loli , like actually and the worse is that you get so many story with actual kids protagonist but nobody will tag them with those stinky term that are associated with lewd shit

Now I am not saying MD is doing thing wrong and I am right as I do not know the massive amount of work and what go into the decision but just pointing out the transgender/non conforming tag shouldn't be on the priority list

Btw I just tough about it but you might want to read this one Majo no Geboku to Maou no Tsuno it been 2 years since I read it and it is a little more fantastic but it does explore gender and non conformity in surprising way considering the setup, and I remember enjoying the read

I came to this comment section because I had a feeling there'd be at least one guy going "You can't just call them trans!". I'm pleasantly surprised even they have a threshold where they can't deny it.

(and yeah, while I sometimes argue for nuance using that label with some manga characters -- i.e. forcing them to be viewed through a specific LGBT cultural filter when the work has more layers than a "cis" or "trans" binary -- this is the most unbelievably open and shut case of a trans girl I'd ever seen. I mean she was already keen on getting HRT and SRS!)

Should the have the psychological tag? Other than that, looks sweet. Hope it's handled well because it could be really good if it is.
