I enjoy this. I never expected laser eye beams, but I got them. The mysterious future rewards or abilities are a fun lure, without somehow every other person ALSO having mystical powers (at least so far hasn't happened). Not that I mind some people having special skills but when it's like 6/10 people it's just Blegh.

Constantly repeated fight scenes is the true boring.

The only thing I dislike is the MC's attitude for doing pretty much nothing on his own (system gave him everything). You'd think he'd be a bit mature considering how much of a idiot loser he used to be (failing grades or barely passing, not obese but definitely wasn't healthy athletic).

While I do agree with the translator that this series is pretty unique, the author put himself in the corner because he made the MC way too omniscient so it doesn't feel like he really appreciate the antiques and actually interested in researching/studying it, he just got wikipedia pages to read from his analytic cheat skills. Should've put some restriction on the cheat skill, for example: he may get hints if before he see the items he already researched something similar to it, so we get some level of engagement of how people who actually works in antiquity do their job. Currently it feels that aspect feels shallow and fake since they just blabber their 'knowledge' without ever showing any hint/proof of research to back up their statements.

Everyone is gullible enough to believe what everybody say without any doubt, which made them seems like easy target for scams. I even feel it might be more interesting if the MC is actually a scammer and he just bullshit his way to explain the history of the antique item based on extensive wealth of knowledge which he laborously learnt on his own, people fall for his tricks but his lies might also true too in ambiguous manner.

That way the explanations will feel more natural and it won't feel like the author just write the story randomly.

Note: I'm not saying the series is bad, it's entertaining enough to read casually. It's just a shame that there's a lot more potential in it but the author's storytelling choises kind of hindering it to be a great story instead of only decently entertaining. Also your translator jokes are funny I always get a chuckle of it everytime I finished reading the chapter.

Hey, there's a reason i read this manga. It's certainly unique. It's not just about slapping arrogant young master and stuff, but man, i did read the whole explanation about some ancient relics and stuff in this manga.. cool stuff.. don't drop!! It's fragile..

The number one reason why I love this manhua, is because I've trained/studied as an appraiser myself, have dabbled in antiques, and real estate, and the occasional jewelry as well.

Even though most of what I learned applies to Japan, Korea, and Europe as well as a bit of North America, I can still relate to the Chinese side too, since I have studied some of its history.

Appraisers can make big bucks if done right, but it's a job that requires extensive reading/researching and requires a very good memory, so it's not very appealing to college/university students. At best most people who enter the world and art of appraisal enter the real-estate market of buying and selling old houses.

People like me who have spent 10+ years in antiques are really rare, not as rare as finding an actuary, but still pretty rare. I'm not 30 years old yet, but I'm not young enough to be considered a young appraiser either, some appraisers start learning at the age of 2 (especially traditional families that have made a name for themselves through appraisal). I started when I was 14, so that's that.

I'm best with modern paintings and figuring out the best price for them, so I often work with painters both veteran and fresh-graduate as well as many amateurs online. I can, on occasion appraise antiques as well as buildings, but my talents lie mainly in identifying paintings.

So reading a manhua like this that has a bit of everything, it gets my blood boiling and excited. :D

But also as Kuraiaku has mentioned earlier, even real-life appraisers don't give flawless explanations like the MC. You'd have to be a genius with photographic memory to do that, and in the history of appraisal, we've had enough geniuses to count on one hand...

Fictional appraisers? Sherlock Holmes. xD Knowing what a person's background and occupation is by their appearance and behaviour, is a type of appraisal, and there are actual university courses that teach it, but most are self-study. Recognizing a person's talent and potential in a certain category, is one of the characteristics of an appraiser. All the top musicians that end up being judges for auditions and whatnot, they are a type of appraiser too.

But we're talking about "material" appraisers, not human appraisers. If you can judge a person's worth by looking at them and seeing what they're good at, you have potential talent for appraisal aptitude.

Appraising is in everything we do in this world, so we may not notice the importance of it.

Well, for me this is an exciting manhua even if there's no fighting scenes nor "loving" scenes ( which everyone knows what "loving scenes" I'm talking about).
