While its true that young people value more actual friendship than dating its more because they haven't actually found a worthy partner more than anything and they are just experimenting what it feels like to date. But things are these way because they date just because, if someone is remotely interesting and cute/handsome they will go for it, meanwhile adults actually try to feel some sort of connection first (based on interests, personality and sexual chemistry) and then decide if they actually want to try dating the person. But this is not the the case for everyone obviously.

I don't get why she's having this discussion with Tanaka. She should be talking about this with Mizuno, the person whose decision it is whether to pursue Tanaka romantically or not. She's just asking to making things weird and awkward if she tries to convince Tanaka to suddenly withdraw after he already confessed. Mizuno's gotta say either "yeah, let's become a couple" or "I don't want to be a couple, I just want to be friends" and if so Tanaka's gotta decide if he can be just friends or not, and that's literally all that needs to happen. There is no value whatsoever in trying to force Tanaka's hand, it'll only make things worse, and nobody would ever think it's a good idea. But yeah, as others have said, it's forced drama.

This might be the first time ever I drop a series strictly due to poor translation quality. Some extremely dizzying grammar and stylistic choices in here. I can't go on. Wishing all the best to the translator tho, you are running laps around anyone who doesn't do stuff like that.
