I think this kinda summarizes a lot of manga in general for me. I don't read manga cause I wanna engage in complex storylines with deep and meaningful themes that examine the human condition. I don't expect to, nor do I want to, learn something valuable about feelings and relationships between people. I just want funny, fluffy instant gratification, that's it. And manga is really good at that. It's not really very good at all that deep complex shit. That's what we have like actual literature for. So manga that commit to what it's good at, the fluffy instant gratification are the ones that end up really good. And manga that get distracted by the temptation to try to be deep and meaningful, end up like this one. And it sucks.
