I'd say definitely not worth it, but on the other hand, the dude does dream about a house on a habitable planet. It's not worth it for a mercenary as it would bind him to the empire (and the will of the government) and there would be expectations, if not responsibilities, but it could make gaining land on a planet much easier.

I'm not sure, though, that his deeds would still be enough to earn a noble rank. Much cheaper for the empire to give him another medal, some money, pretty speeches, and a bit of publicity. They might suggest a contract to bind him a little bit. He shouldn't accept any contracts. Maybe if there's a really petty nobility rank, like knighthood, that doesn't cost the empire anything and is not hereditary, it could happen. The empire would lose nothing, but it would bind Hiro to the empire for the rest of his life. Existing noble houses would hardly care about another knight appearing.

None of the characters even question how they could hear a "scream" in space? The thing can obviously affect their minds for that to happen, they should be wondering to what extent.

It's psionic, psiconics are an accepted part of the world.

That's inaccurate.

The only reason Machine Intelligence like Mei are good here because they can make more accurate attacks unlike Humans (because of their high calculation abilities) especially with long range shots.

There is no "detect intention" stuff here with Crystal Beings, as even normal human can attack and kill Crystal Beings.

Also, just like how Crystal Beings are dangerous to Humans or other Living Beings, they are also dangerous to Machine Intelligence.

On a side note, in Chapter 10, Elma did question how Crystal Beings were able to make so much noise in vacuum.

Though the reason they can make such noise is unconfirmed until later, which is Crystal Beings also have Psionic abilities, basically they have telepathy, which is why their voice can even be heard in vacuum (because its not sound that's traveling in vacuum, but rather brain waves).

Yeah.

In the Light Novel (unless 7SE translated it wrong), Serena was more worried about how her planning was wasted because of Hiro's sudden change in plans and one-shot the Mother Crystal.

But here in the Manga, the focus is more on how Hiro showed concern for Serena's safety, but didn't care about his own, which hurt Serena's feelings.

Both are ongoing, with currently Light Novel having 18 volumes, while Web Novel has 590 chapters.

The Manga is currently covering the plot of Light Novel Volume 6.

Rather convenient. Just like how the robots are implied to have supreme military power and run everything "for everyone's benefit" in the background, but the galaxy is convenient still a lawless and dangerous rubbish pit, and bios live under an illusion of liberty and structure.
