@Legion499 it becomes even worse of a comparison when you realize that even if a currency exchange is fixed, the actual buying power of each currency will naturally fluctuate. An example I can think of is USD and CAD. Used to be that these two were so close in value that it did not matter if you used CAD in the USA or USD in Canada. Nowadays, the exchange rate is just far enough apart that most places will heavily oppose taking the other country's currency simply because it is too much of a hassle.
