Hmm, this chapter and the last are kinda sad irl. We all have heard sometimes ago that scientist discover how to grow meat like product in a lab, in a project connected to space exploration right? The aim was to give a self-replenishing food stuff for long voyage/flight astronauts. That and help solve some food issues on Earth.
I heard just last week, that the method of producing/growing lab grown meats is twenty five times more energy intensive than regular cow derived meat. Meaning it is not good for the environment at all.

There were a number of factora making people doubt this claim though, as some people finds out the research into lab grown meat was commissioned by parties that have ties to beer/meat producers.

The biggest issue with lab grown meat is that it rots really fast. It rots so fast that the size of the container to grow meat is extremely small because once it grows large enough, it rots from the inside-out.

Oh, and outputs like methane would still happen and need to be dealt with if methane is that much of an issue.

As it turns out, having a working vascular system, immune system, minimum exercise of those muscles, and so many other things that animals do well is vital to the production of meat.

The land footprint and amount of equipment required to make even 5% of the global meat supply lab-grown today make that 25 times less energy efficient claim more than believable. I'd go as far as to say it's probably closer to 35 times.

This is why, should lab grown meat become a mass produced thing in the far future, it will not be lab grown protein, it will be grown from a genetically engineered animal (one designed to have minimal nerves and with extremely limited, even comparable to other animals, intelligence). Or insects... as many western governments seem to be trying to set up as of late.

And meat is necessary for living. There's a very recent video on why vegan diets never work—has so much information in it I recommend anyone watch it—and as it turns out, vegans eat more processed food than any diet and almost 90% stop being vegan; mostly for health reasons if they don't stop soon enough due to other reasons.

The others... they're stubborn and not healthy. And since so much of mental health is tied to gut health, it really is important to get that healthy.
