That bear carving is some kind of meme that's popped up in at least 3 other manga I've read and I have no idea wtf it's about. It's exactly a wooden carving of a bear with a fish in its mouth, but something about it is changed slightly for the setting.
The other one I remember is the guy who mains a Berserker but gets isekai'd as a Sage, and in that one the bear looks like an orc or gobbo.

If anyone knows please reply.

yay more!!! I am reading the novel, but I really enjoy having visuals. Can you imagine this as an anime, I feel like it would feel different than the manga and novel, but in a more exciting way, like a mix between interspecies reviewers and I can't think of a good space action besides one that has a completely different tone like Cowboy Bebop.
I believe it would fit well with as a late 90s early 2000s style sci-fi/space anime throwback.

I don't know where the k notation came from when it comes to money but I think it was borrowed from the metric system since kilo is k and it represents 1000.
I first encountered this usage in games. And personally I stick to it for most part on the internet, outside when speaking verbally some specific numbers in my mother tongue which is faster.
K-thousands
M-millions
B-billions
etc...

I find it weird that Wiska is calling Tina 'Tina' instead of 'Big Sis' or 'Big Sister' like in the raw, but whatever.

I really like the way the characters faces and expressions are drawn in the manga, I always think of this art over the LNs art.
True, but it seems the duo dwarf and Elma face design become generic template for the woman, I look some similarities when I see it

Well that's just my theory as that's the only thing that makes send to me as when representing million the m is used and and b for billion for shorthand notations.
Its not only for kilo iirc, but also used for thousand nominal, like you can see on TV (ex 4KHD).

Ridiculous title and cute girls aside, I still stand by Mouretsu Pirates/Bodacious Space Pirates/Miniskirt Space Pirates as having a fantastic representation of what space combat and living on a spaceship would actually be like.
Fun fact, space combat IRL, at least ship to ship, would be boring and terrible. Aim laser, hope your laser heats up the enemy faster than theirs warms your ship up, winner is the one with the least cooked crew.

Seriously, dumping heat wouldn't work quickly enough because there's no air to let radiators work well.

Most sci-fi ships have magic cooling.

Yes k is from kilo, as that usually translates to thousand. For million we use juta (jt), and for billion we use miliar/milyar (m). Trillion onwards is the same as english.

It's a stereotypical pointless Japanese souvenir.

Miniskirt Space Pirates is a light novel series. Mouretsu Pirates is the anime adaptation, localized as Bodacious Space Pirates. I don't recall offhand if there was ever a manga adaptation.
Thanks, I found it on Mangadex, but sadly there arent any chapters uploaded
:nyoron:
