Sunbae always seemed so well put together, especially when compared to the others in this story, but putting up a giant act to be a Model Wife is a rough deal for sure... fun that both Mia and Sunbae are these people putting up acts in different ways when they're around Taesoo and others tho (although Mia's mask has been falling apart at record pace lately lol)

This development really is detrimental to their relationship either way ,even if she likes him their family are a red flag for both , he could end up being the fiancee, he may not know but shes trying to act like the nice girl to him because of that, making this even more worse. Man I can see this ship crumbling already, that's too sad

I may have skimmed too much but from my point of view there has been no development from the story, I'm not that nitpicky on the character development or how the story progresses but it just seems like currently it's in a stalemate. mia and mc just missing each other each chapter or either that beating themselves up, showing off that nayoon is a losing heroine when she shows up, the weird blondie who's always up to no good, and the sunbae who's just seemingly perfect. I just wish that something happens BETWEEN the characters and not them suffering just by themselves cause it's been 23 chapters and the updates are long that by the time it hits 50 chapters I might forget the plot or lose interest in this when the premise is so good.

The model wife trope... her family has probably been hammering that into her since her childhood. They might even have a fiance lined up for her already...

She might have taken him in due to that. I mean, if she got pregnant by a random high schooler, I doubt her family would see that in a good light. And maybe they would disown her and she could escape them. Maybe that's why she took him in. I mean, her eyes looked pretty dead at that time and only brightened up when she heard his answer about how her house looked like. If don't have anything, you can easily leave and go somewhere else. So she always wanted to leave.

Would be interesting to see, if her house has furniture now, after knowing Taesoo for many years. But maybe not, because her situation hasn't changed.

Still, even if she took him in to use him in some way, I don't think it's particularly wrong. Sure, it would make her not be a saint, but who is one anyway? There aren't many that would do something that is a lot of work without expecting anything in return. Even doing good, because you feel good about yourself when you do good is selfish in a sense, but you wouldn't say it's bad.
If she hadn't taken him in, who knows what would have happened to him. He might have gone back to his family. He might have been stubborn and tried living on the streets, unprepared, in the middle of winter, and died.

Still, I still feel for Nayoon (the childhood friend he sees as a little sister of sorts). It hurts that she most likely won't win.

you are not wrong, while I was hopping the episode format as story development. it actually just deeper character introduction.
the first episode are story introduction with all the cast, then Mia Episode is all about Mia, then now Sunbae Episode is all about Sunbae, it implied that there will be Nayoon Episode, then after that the story would only start to progress.

well, there is a lot of story that only start after 100th chapter etc, and a lot of story that the first 30 chapter are just prologue too,
so either you stuck around or just let it accumulate.

It looks to me as if Mia is rediscovering her former feelings for him. I expect some more hilarious shenanigans ahead.

And Sunbae... I think she also has feelings for the MC, and their relationship is progressing, but let's see what this "model wife" bullshit from her mother will do to put a wrench in their budding relationship.

This won't show on the translation, but it's interesting to note that in the raw, on the phone, the term "Mother" is written as "어머님" (eomeonim) which is an honourific form of "Mother", usually reserved for somebody else's mother, especially like a mother-in-law (?) rather than "엄마" (eomma) for one's own mother. I don't think that's her own mother texting that to her.

Also she's only a year older than Taesoo, right? That makes her maybe 19-20 in the flashback? What kind of girl living on her own in such a huge apartment invites a random seemingly homeless and jobless stranger boy back to her place on a whim at night? Everybody in this story has something wrong with their heads.

That point makes me think if she's trying to runway from family(-in-law?)'s expectations so bad she actually tried to see if she could use a dangerous situation as an excuse to run away somehow

Like, sunbae eyes were very gloomy too, she was ready for something terrible to happen to her if it meant getting to run away, that's what I felt when I saw that scene of them entering her room

But then she saw the changes in MC and that somehow gave her hope for her future or something
Like, if he got through that, together I can get through too

That's my two cents on this chap anyways, might be way off, we'll see

I'm just reading this now, so I'm behind, but my guess is that she's... been hired/chosen by Taesoo's mom to keep an eye on him and be his future wife.
