I feel like I should comment on this manhwa. I thought it was great, even though it was generic and all, but I just want to see him get a romance with Mia. I got to the point and understood that both sides are probably confused. I hope for a great ending for both, a great manhwa for everyone.

Horrible, the mc is just your carbon copy wimp who blushes at anything and magically has girls falling for him, I really hope he gets cucked by other men, you can’t even classify it as cucked because it’s so painfully obvious how bad the author made the mc so fucking dense, they made the mc look a little good looking to make up for his stutter, weak willed pathetic of a excuse for a man. Drop the harem tag because if it does end up as a harem it will be at the very end when he randomly sees there feelings after so long. It’s just so boring seeing the same MCs personalities be like this. Can we not get a mc who is actually aware of there feelings and “If you like me then you shall accept me if I have a harem” type of person but he’s not even acknowledging there feelings. I feel like you could pick up on how indecisive and pathetic the MC was within the first 5 or so chapters, when he kept letting Mia walk all over him without addressing the massive elephant in the room. Her disappearing should have been addressed in chapter 1-2, and i decided i wasn’t gonna stick around for the 30 or so chapters of meandering before the reveal for what happened

Not really the same for me, but i dont really like romances who intentionally make a very complex love triangle and repeat, i just know the mc is gonna drop the president in the next chapters. The childhood friend too, i dont expect a good ending tbh.

I don't think you even realize how few actual romance manhwas there are with a male MC.

There may be shounen-type manhwas that have romance, but I wouldn't exactly say they fall under the same tree...

• Where's that half the slop?
• What girls actually like the MC other than his childhood friend? Are you sure we read the same manhwa?
• MC is not indecisive. He likes someone, but his literal fucking ex that suddenly disappeared for 5 years has just came back into his life. Have you ever experienced heartbreak????
• This is the only fair point you have, but who knows how it will end at this point. I can see tragedy too at the end.

The synopsis was all about this exact point how she insists on avoiding him... but life (or the story I guess) basically forces them to interact with each other.

Also, yes the story may have its shortcomings so far, but I swear to fucking god it's still only 10 chapters in. I hate how you can't even give the benefit of the doubt to the author IN CASE IF THEY ACTUALLY LISTEN TO FEEDBACK???

Honestly, I'm getting more pissed the more I think about your brainless review.
People here are so hard to please it's laughable.

To me, this one may have its shortcomings, but its still one of the few romance manhwas that have a guy as the main character instead of a girl in recent times. So far its nothing crazy, but it has the potential to become greater if it keeps the more adult theme of the story, instead of the comedy aspect

But I guess we may never know, because of people like you who like to judge everything so early.

It’s true that there aren’t many, but the few that exist (My Bias Gets on the Last Train, Ctrl+Alt+Resign, I Can Only See You come to mind atm) all had much stronger and more interesting premises.

The character have actual interests outside of the primary romance in the story, the FL(s) don’t immediately fall for the ML and the story is more centered around the leads getting closer over time, and the characters around the leads all have their own personalities, motivations, and interests. This manhwa doesn’t really DO any of that

I think the main issue here is that you are judging this series by what you personally want from a romance manhwa, and that is exactly why your comparison feels off.

Like, the ones you listed are much more romance focused. Their whole appeal is the leads getting closer over time, with the cast around them having their own personalities and side interests, but imo Mia is not built around that in the same way.

For example, even if the synopsis makes it sound like a reunion romance, after reading a bit it's clear that the actual story leans much more into the drama and mystery around Mia. What actually happened to her, why she disappeared, what is going on with her past, and how all of that changes Taesoo's feelings, so the focus is very different.

That's why when you say this manhwa does not really "do" what those other series do, then yes, because it's not trying to do the same thing in the first place. That doesn't automatically make it worse, it just means the comparison isn't good.

Also, not sure why you used "I Can Only See You" as the title, because I translate it and the actual title I use is "You're the Only One I Can See", are you reading elsewhere? Anyway, that manhwa has 8 chapters out, so using that as proof of how much better it handles everything already feels premature.

You can dislike this manhwa if you want, but your criticism doesn't really read like "it fails at what it's trying to do", but reads more like "it's not doing the kind of romance I personally prefer"

By the way, you are fair to think that way, but I also see a lot of negativity around this manhwa because people go into it expecting a more straightforward romance, then get frustrated when the story keeps circling back to Mia instead of just 1 love interest.
