I love such chapters the most, because they usually have a very good Slice of Live element in which you can self-inserting to feel yourself in Miko place.

It was already very risky to acknowledge the father. After all, who knew what whould happen, remember the one masquerading as a kid? Doing so for whatever sicks around him is just too much.

If I had to guess, maybe the spirit of a horse (or a really fucked up looking dog) that the dad just happened to bring home one day. Saw a really happy family and probably decided to stick around. Or maybe dad's so powerful he's keeping it in check.
