So I wonder if the cat turned into the six legged dog somehow or if that was a completely different spirit. And why was it helping Miko in that sense? Even more confusing is that I'm not sure if it was actually giving hostile vibes to Miko at the end there. I know the mangaka tends to do "that style" of art when things becoming spooky, but it could also be totally innocuous. And the biggest twist is that the shop owner is super hot. Competitor for Michiru for Miko's heart perhaps? Need me some more MichiMiko soon.

I think the dog is completely unrelated/setup for something terrible about to happen, and it may have been helping her to get her to show signs that she can see it. The spirits and whether they're good or bag in general. Maybe it just likes to haunt that store though and we'll get a back story later, or it'll stay as an inexplicable thing.

Nah, she probably refer to a real cat, the one that was adopted in chapter 4, the one that was 'abandonned' in a cardbox, before her shop (shop owner explain that shiro loved to visit and sit in front of the shop).
And We know that the cat can play with the other cat spirit, so that cat probably was helped by the dog spirit, hence his abilitie to find anything.

I'm pretty sure she think that shiro died because she never see him cameback, when in reality, he was adopted.

Oh and romel probably always under the malignent influence of the old ghost guy, wonder who that guy was, but certainly a death god level threat.

Do the Japanese mythology nerds know anything about six-legged dogs? Is there some cultural context missing here, or is it just a random monster? It feels very different from the normal monsters portrayed in this series.
"Long dog yokai" makes me think of SMT's take on inugami, but the longness is their take on it and not part of folklore so it could be nothing. But SMT is very well-known and hugely influential so I really doubt the mangaka doesn't know about it.

Inugami have sometimes been depicted as long historically. The SMT version is actually based on a drawn depiction in the Chiriyahokori.

Wait, did they really? LOL

Eh...
Well we're gonna have a little problem here, I'm doing an adaptation however I want to. I will fix the text aliasing and the unwanted typos, but not how I decided to interpret the text.
At least I'm not making the whole thing woke.
I meant that I won't change a character opinion based on my own agenda, I just take the liberty on the phrasing to flesh it out.

It's a open secret localizers often do that.

Yuri is hot anyway.

That's it, that's the entire "complaint" about wokeness.
Frankly, Emile was kind of an ass in general in how they addressed people's complaints. The usual stuff: "don't read it if you don't like it", "if you don't like it do it yourself" and so on.

So focusing on them saying "besides, at least I don't change things around to push some agenda" of all things, as if that's somehow their biggest fault here? That's just plain silly.
