Maybe they can't? They previously always rely on the old man to actually fight, with them being the support

Thanks for the chapter.
I know it's often said that Miko must be protected at all costs.
However I'm not ready if said protection involves sacrificing any of these MiB or Miko's Dad.
The author has erred greatly in making them all too likable.

The MiB aren't able to exorcise things on their own, it seems. Otherwise they would have totally done that insect in. But this goes further to the "don't judge a creature by their shape" thing that's been cropping up.

Train guy is scary but ostensibly good. The winged wheelchair guy from the hospital was basically a heavenly Uber driver. Pii-chan and Franciois are good. And the newly lambda rabbit rebranded guardian of the park is definitely good.

I suspect the eating things that sometimes takes spirits (like next to not-Mr Donut and in the restaurant) are just a grotesque form of another kind of transfer of life energy.
