Might be the same spirit but attached to slightly different folklore/urban legends. Dad's generation had a weird old lady, Miko's generation has the plain man, etc.
that's what I'd expect yes

It appears according to how you expect him to appear, and Miko preconceptions were caused by Rom description

There are 2 different spirits in the picture.

The text "A change in perspective"

Do they see the spirits differently?! Why? Rom sees them the same way as Miko though? Is the guy's spiritual awareness faulty?
first question yes
second question the point of "IT" was having irregular forms depending on who sees "IT"
third question is a no, in fact Rom was shocked that Miko sees "IT" as a regular creepy uncle
fourth question is also no, in fact I think the dad have stronger ability because he perceived "IT" as a dangerous looking ghost

I disagree. Her dad used to see dangerous-looking ghosts all the time. To him this particular entity looked like just another one of those, nothing special about it. Miko, on the other hand, saw it as something unique. Not just a creepy old man but one with a scythe to boot. To me that suggests Miko's strong enough to see at least a bit of this entity's real nature (he's probably a shinigami, a death god) while her father couldn't.

It was in fact not, Miko seen that ghost before Rom ever pointed at him, and then he was surprised that she sees him as plain old man, it is different for anyone who can see it

Dad sure had his debuff turned into perfect ghost sensor, can't really miss the ghost if they alone are perfectly clear in blurry world, honestly if Miko only knew it, her life would be so much easier on topic of sneaky ghosts, she can just get glasses that will make world blurry for her, therefore having a way to verify anyone anytime, or really just one lens is enough

So that thing had been stalking the mom for decades. Interesting.

Huh. Is it nonlinear enough that it's been waiting for Miko the entire time?

There's a whole chapter where Seto explains that Spirits are anomalies in reality and that they don't have a "canon" appearance. Everyone perceives them differently.

Romm saw the "middle-aged man" as something utterly horrible.
Mieruko saw it has the "middle-aged man".
In this chapter, the twist at the end is that the spirit that was following Mieruko's mom around is the "middle-aged man" as perceived by Mieruko's father.

Another example would be Mieruko's classmate who can only see outlines, her "spiritual awareness" is not faulty, that's just the way she sees them.

My best bet is that Mieruko's dad made that thing target him on purpose so that it would stop following Mieruko's mother, when he died the thing started haunting Mieruko. Whatever it is we know it is extremely powerful, and just like every other spirit so far it refuses to enter Mieruko's household, probably because of dad and François.
