I think I might have some context with this stuff.

Heard from a military nerd that if a conflict happened in an island nation like Taiwan or Japan, it would be like fighting a mountainous country like Afghanistan.

Not really a military buff, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got some inspiration from historical events like the Britain-Afghan war. That being said, every time I hear "solider that won the war", I smell national propaganda.

Feels a bit rushed TBH, also having the whole "MC suffers from trauma, but learns how to cope with it and becomes stronger" plotline got crammed into one chapter. Jormungand, Black Lagoon, Vinland Saga also have similar characters, but handle the reveal and resolution of said trauma much better.

Plus, I don't think they would waste ammo and time on training a kid to be a sniper when she kept missing from 500 meters.

Yeah, compared to Vinland Saga I can def see that, personally I need to revisit Jormungand. Hopefully, they address why they are letting a little kid shoot all that ammo sooner, I completely overlooked that plot hole.
